What’s the difference between Glycolic Acid and Lactic Acid?
Glycolic Acid (AHA) is the smallest acid molecule in the AHA family, which means it penetrates the skin more quickly and efficiently — delivering faster, more visible results on texture and pigmentation. Lactic Acid is larger and penetrates more slowly, making it slightly gentler and better suited to those new to acid exfoliants or with drier skin. If you want effective results and your skin tolerates actives well, this Glycolic Toner is an excellent choice.
Do I need to rinse it off?
No — this is a leave-on formula. Apply to clean, dry skin in the evening and let it do its work overnight. Don’t rinse. Follow with your serum and moisturiser as normal. The key step is SPF the following morning to protect the newly renewed skin.
Can I use this if my skin is dry or sensitive?
Yes, but start slowly — once a week and build up. Glycolic Acid is more potent than Lactic Acid due to its smaller molecule size. The formula includes Sodium PCA and Betaine to minimise dryness, but if your skin is very sensitive, the AHA Peeling Concentrate with Lactic Acid may be a more comfortable starting point.
Can I use this with the Purifying Toner?
Not on the same evening. BHA (Salicylic Acid in the Purifying Toner) and AHA (Glycolic Acid here) are both actives — using them together can over-exfoliate and compromise your skin barrier. Alternate them on different evenings for best results: e.g. Purifying Toner in the morning, Glycolic Toner in the evening.
